Kid Friendly Nice Restaurant in Orlando for Sunday?
I have a friend and her family coming to Orlando on Sunday. They have two boys, 7 and 5. I have an infant and a toddler, who both do well in restaurants. I'm usually headed either to chick-fil-a with just my kids, or a nice restaurant with my husband, but now I need someplace in between.
I wish the wait at Rainforest Cafe (Downtown Disney) wasn't always so long, because that would be about perfect. Dexter's is probably too grown-up. I've thought of O'Boys, Cheesecake Factory, and Mimi's Cafe, but I would love to hear other ideas. It needs to be a place we can linger and chat a while, not fast casual. thanks!
Whispering Canyons at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort!! This place is a winner!! They have stick pony races for the kids, cheered on by the adults. They also have a wonderfull interactive wait staff, all you can drink milkshakes, and all you can eat bbq. They are themed with bandana's for napkins, and you drink out of mason jar mugs. I love this place!
You can make reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE . You want to ask for a seating that will give you an hour to eat before the boat parade. After dinner, just go outside and watch the really cool electric light boat parade from the resorts beach. You'll want to arrive a little early because the resort itself is amazing. Your children will love it.
The WDW DINE number can also give you other kid and adult fun restaurant suggestions, if this one isn't quite what you are looking for.
For shared family meals down near the attractions we've had good luck with Taverna Opa. They had a kids menu and you can easily make a kids menu out of the small plates. If you were looking closer to Winter Park I'm thinking 310 Park might be workable. Casual, near the chocolate shop and has a kids menu. You could walk/run out the kids first on the avenue or in the park and then head over for the meal.
