Any suggestions for a group to get together? Eat, drink and be merry. Thanks.

There's not much at Bathurst, there is Paese, which is Italien, just north of Wilson. Otherwise there are several places places on avenue road, just two minutes away. What are you looking for?

Somewhere to have a drink and light food, catch up with friends, not too far from the 400, on a subway stop for those from downtown - trying to please a few!

I would suggest Steve's (http://www.stevesrestaurant.ca/). It's on Bathurst, just North of Wilson on the West side. Nothing fancy, just dependable diner food and I'm pretty sure they are licensed.

I, too, like PAESE but it can be crowded and noisy and perhaps a bit pricey...If you like Thai food, there's THAI MAGIC on Bathurst Street a bit north of Lawrence Avenue West on the west side of the street conveniently on the Bathurst bus line It is quite a decent place, freshly made food, reasonably priced, rarely crowded and the service is very sweet and obliging. Have not been there for Dinner but Lunches have been good. Not certain if they serve Liquor but they do have wine.

The Thai joint pearlD is thinking of is Thai Plate, not Thai Magic. Otherwise, he/she has it pretty well pegged. It has a licence, though the owners don't seem to sell much liquor. The very short wine list isn't up to much, but the place charges only $10 corkage for bring-your-own. Assorted beers available. I've only gone there for dinner, but rarely has there been more than one or two other tables occupied. It's baffling because the spot delivers very tasty food, and the reasonable prices will drop a further 10% if you present a discount coupon available for the place on menupalace.com. Easy parking on nearby residential streets.

What about that new place, BW Bistro, right on the corner of Bathurst & Wilson? It is in the same plaza as the Starbucks and Amazing Doughnuts (which are amazing, BTW). It used to be a Chinese food place and then a Mexicana Grill, and now this. The banner out front says it has chicken wings and the likes. Anyone know anything about it?

Don't know anything about it, but just wanted to add that between the Chinese place (Szechuan King) and Mexicana Grill, it also had an incarnation as a Middle Eastern restaurant named Istanbul Grill.
