Sirloin flap meat in Mount Pleasant?

Has anyone seen sirloin flap meat (like skirt steak but thicker) in the Mount Pleasant area? I've seen it at Costco/Whole Foods in other cities...thought I'd check there, but everyone I speak to on the phone is unaware of the cut that I'm referring to. Thanks!

  1. Do you mean flank steak? Try Whole Foods or New York Butcher on Coleman.

    1. I recently discovered this cut, and really enjoy it. I live in Boston and flap steak is what is usually served if you buy or order steak tips.

You might want to try any major supermarket that sells steak/sirloin tips and ask the butcher if he will sell you the whole piece..5-6 lbs and not trim or cut it into strips.

I've cut it into tips or roasted a 2-3 lb piece on the grill with great success.

      1. It's not in Mt. P, but the H & L Asian Supermarket in North Charleston has flap steak.
