Best place for "Guys Night"

Coming to NOLA for a bachelor party. Looking for a restaurant where 6 guys can eat, drink, have fun, maybe be a little loud, not be surrounded by couples making goofy faces at each other, but still enjoy top quality food. $75-100 pp would be ideal, but flexible. Obviously, we know about Ruth's Chris, Brennans, Jacque-imo's , and the most popular places....looking for something less obvious But maybe they're obvious for a reason. Thanks for the help.

La Boca is a great place for a guy's night. The steaks are fantastic, as well as all of the appetizers and the sides. I highly recommend the Gaucho Plate and the Proveleta as starters. You can get a little roudy here and nobody looks down on you. Plus, its right by the Red Eye and The Republic so you can just walk to the bars after dinner. Enjoy!

I think that a bachelor dinner should be held in a loud dining room because they are more lively. How about the Rib Room - either upstairs overlooking the downstairs dining room or in the wine cellar underneath. Downstairs at Galatoire's is always a good choice.

Too bad that there are not 8 of you, because then you could get the Group Menu at La Boca. I feel like that deal was specifically designed for bachelor parties: http://blackenedout.blogspot.com/2009/07/mouth.html

You make me think of the Arnaud's Mezzanine as a possible choice...you are part of the lively main room but are somewhat removed from it. Then, too, Arnaud's has the old, ancient Bachelor's room, next to the bar...I heard parts of stories that came from that room in the Glory Days....no one ever finished one of those stories but as a child/adolscent I was led to believe that amazing things took place therein. It has not regained its status from the days of "Count" Arnaud, but it is in the tradition.

Last few group meals at Arnauds have been complete duds. I think that place needs another reworking. Cold food, horrible service. Two things stand out.

Ordered Chicken Pontalba. It arrives with no brabant potatoes. "Where are the potatoes?" "That dish doesn't have brabant potatoes," waiter says. "It says so on your menu." "Ohh well, not tonight."

The waiter plopped down what was referred to as Creme Brulee on the menu. Underneath the shell was simply Cool Whip. When I asked the waiter if this was Cool Whip with caramelized sugar, he responded, "yes, kitchen backed up and most people prefer it that way."

          Steer clear of Arnaud's.

I would suggest either Clancy's or Vizards. Upbeat, upscale and great food. A group of"loud" guys should fit right in.
