MSP Anniversary dinner Tuesday night--good deal at good restaurant?

I know I read an article about all the good deals that MSP has on offnights. We just want a good dinner, anniversary worthy, at a good price. Quality of food more important than fancy atmoshpere.
Thanks for any suggestions.

    Al Vento has a Tuesday date night special of 3 courses for $20. Good food, nice atmosphere.

      Broder's pasta bar has a Summer Supper deal. I tried this as an "After 8" deal during the winter and it was not fancy, but very tasty and an awesome deal. The summer version (from the Broder's Pasta bar site):

      "Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
      from 5:00 - 6:00 pm
      Our Summer Supper menu includes:
      two choices of the following pasta:
      * penne rosa al romarino
      * penne puttanesca
      * spaghetti carbonara
      * stringozzi spoletina
      * fettuccine alfredo
      * tagliatelle alla bolognese

      plus
      olive appetizer, seasonal salad for two,
      1/2 bottle of selected Italian wine (red or white)
      $28.00"

        Its not tuesday but consider the sunday deal at meritage. 24 dollars for two amuses a main and your choice of dessert or cheese course. oh, and the wine is half off too. the "downside" is you dont get your pick of the menu, but whatever chef klein sends out will be first rate. really nice room and very anniversary-worthy, but not on a tuesday.

          Birchwood Cafe has half-priced wine nights on Mondays and Tuesdays.

          The atmosphere definitely isn't fancy - it's more of an upscale coffeehouse where you order at the counter - but the food is equal to a fancy neighborhood bistro. On a nice night, you can sit outside and admire the neighborhood (it's on a quiet street, but the occasional #24 bus goes by).

          Last night's dinner featured a great pureed bean soup and a lovely salad with peaches, pluots, blueberries, and pecans. We also had a pizza with chicken and tarragon pesto - good, but not my favorite of all their pizzas (the selection changes weekly, if not daily). Their desserts are always fabulous.

          Me, I might go a bit fancier for an anniversary dinner (like Alma, which doesn't have "off night specials"), but the Birchwood is great for celebrating other life achievements such as a successful garage sale, a half-birthday, or a nicely mowed lawn.

          Happy anniversary!
          Anne

            I'm not certain whether you're looking specifically for places that have special deals on Tuesdays, but, if not:

            we went to Vincent last year for our anniversary and loved loved loved it. And they brought us a complimentary dessert with a special message (I had noted the special occasion on Open Table when I made the reservation). Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, great service-- we are going somewhere different this year, but only because we feel obligated to branch out!

              Thanks for the suggestions. It's my first time on chowhound and it was exciting to see replies so fast.
              As for Vincent's, we went there several years ago for our anniversary. They weren't busy but we were ignored for quite a long time. We cut out, figuring it was a lot of money to waste if the service was going to be spotty. Next day, we got a call from Vincent himself and a gigantic gift certificate in the mail. When we went in later we had a fabulous meal and Vincent came out to make sure our meal was a good experience.

              You could go to Barbette and get there before 6 to get some discounted appetizers and drinks, then go for a nice walk around the lake. Or do the Fuji Ya happy hour before 7 for cheaper drinks and sushi, and perhaps even score one of the private rooms.
