Does anyone know of a place that makes this type of coleslaw that would sell enough for 50-100 people?

  1. why not go to a place that makes the mayo stuff and ask them to make a bunch of the non-mayo? They'll probably help. Or...you could ask for the shredded cabbage alone and simply add a vinaigrette of

    - mostly seasoned rice wine vinegar
    - some olive oil
    - salt, pepper and sugar to taste. (amt. may vary depending on brand of seasoned rice wine vinegar)

This is my never-fail non-mayo coleslaw recipe. Hope this helps.

    1. Vons makes something called SLIM SLAW, and it is done with cider and very good.

Also try whole foods, they probably have something that does not have may or nayonaise.

They also have a red potato salad with out mayo.

You might need to call ahead.

      1. Tin Fish makes that kind of coleslaw, but I don't know if they cater.

        1. I've seen a slaw made with Oil & Vinegar, sort of Italian style which you probably can have made for you on request. Tastes pretty good. Also, in my travels, I 've seen it made with BBQ sauce called 'red slaw' in the Carolina's.

          1. Pelly's Fish Market in Carlsbad has this kind of coleslaw, it's pretty good too, I am sure they would sell you that much if you give them some notice.

Thanks for the leads, folks! I know I could make it myself - it's the only kind of slaw my family will eat. But for 50-100? Um.....no. So I'll check with the places you've provided and see who has the best price. We had food donated for the motorcycle run I posted about a couple of weeks ago, and we're looking for sides to complement the rest of the food. Thanks again!
