SFO on Christmas Day and also 11 hours layover on a Saturday

I did a search on the board before posting, but I couldn't find what I was exactly looking for.

I'm looking for places to eat in San Francisco airport on Christmas Day morning inside the International terminal. What's open?

On the way back from Asia to Canada, I also have an 11 hours layover in San Francisco again on a Sat. Thinking of taking BART and checking out Ferry Building for breakfast and somewhere scenic for an early dinner, before heading back to the airport.

Suggestions please? I would prefer non-Asian food - somewhere causal and not too high end.

Thanks in advance.

  1. The international terminal has two food courts outside security, north and south. The north food court contains Lori's Diner, which is supposed to be open around the clock - always. The joint is pretty good, too - a fairly typical long-menu, short-order, american diner.

I don't know what else is going to be open christmas morning. I'm sure it depends on the hour. 1am - nothing. 11am - everything. I'm very fond of the Ibizu outpost and often get a soba bowl.

Re your other request, a full day in SF will be fun. Your dinner request means anywhere in the city, with the only constraints of "casual and not too high end and non-Asian" - and open 5 months from now. I'd suggest re-asking your question in early December, and be more specific about the kind of experience you're looking for, the price range, and the exact hour you're comfortable leaving for the airport.

    1. Here's the list of restaurants in SFO:

My guess is they'll be open Xmas day but you'll have to verify.

      1. I agree it is best to check back in December for your Saturay. Definately do the Farmers Market though.

In the meantime, maybe this will help to narrow your options. I try to keep it updated, so in December there may be different places on those lists.

Visitng SF. Eat like a local not a tourist.

        1. Thanks everyone! I guess I'm a little too enthusiastic for my upcoming trip LOL. Just thought I will get a head start in my research. I will ask again in Dec.
