I have childhood memories of a really yummy, probably whole wheat bread with crunchy millet in it. I can't seem to find a recipe for it anywhere and wondered if any of you have made something that sounds like that and can share a recipe?

Thanks

Hi ElenaRose. Millet is a pretty common addition to whole-grain breads, so my advice would be to take your favorite whole wheat or multigrain bread recipe and add 1/4 cup or so of toasted millet. You can brush the tops with milk and sprinkle more of the millet over the top.

Matter of fact... the no-knead bread that's been so often discussed by 'hounds over the last 2 or 3 years works beautifully with seeds and things added to it! You've inspired me to locate some millet! I love the crunch too! :)

Good luck!

Gluten-free cookbooks have recipes for millet bread but with no wheat. Most that I've had/made call for millet flour rather than whole millet. We recently had millet/potato bread by Deland Bakery which we got from the freezer case at WFM. Again it was millet flour.
