It would be helpful to know your cuisine preference(s), and your per person budget for food only (drinks, tax, & tip additional). But to get you started, I would recommend the very excellent Convivio, on Tudor City Pl., b/t 42nd & 43rd Sts.

Great, thank you. Price is not an issue. I looked at the menu and it does look fantastic. We are going for a "heavy" dinner in the meat packing district tonight so perhaps something with a "lighter" fare may be appropriate. As for cuisine preference, we all have a well developed palate, coming from Toronto where we have some fabulous restaurants. Any other suggestions are also welcome. Many thanks.

Sushi Yasuda is the best restaurant in close proximity to Grand Central IMO, but it might be difficult to get a reservation on short notice.

You might want to try Ammos (greek) or Kellari Taverna (also greek) for a little bit of a lighter lunch (they both have nice fish options and may even have good lunch salads), but both are still nice enough for business meals.

I have had several successful business lunches at Metrazur on the balcony inside GCT. Food is solid, service is excellent, tables are well spaced and there is the built-in spectacle of moving people and a beatiful space. I typically end with the cookie plate which has been the highlight of the meal several times.
