Wedding Cake Recommendations...

My friend is getting married in October, we were planning on going taste testing for weeding cakes this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions or which posts I can look at? I haven't found anything specifically about wedding cakes. Her wedding is going to be in Flushing, but we are willing to get a cake from any location. If you have suggestions from manhattan, queens, brooklyn, or even long island, It's muchl appreciated. The only thing is the delivery dilemma. But can figure that out once we find a place we love for the wedding cake!

I was thinking possibly checking out Cake Man Raven, Sun Mary Bakery, Yehs Bakery, and Sugar Sweet Sunshine (not sure if they do wedding cakes). If anyone has any input on these please let me know.

Thanks for help in advance!

Saint Honore Patisserie in Astoria (Ditmars and 35th) makes delicious cakes at a very reasonable price. I know that they make wedding cakes too. I have ordered their cakes many times and all of them were delicious. But I have never had their wedding cake.

From what I recall it was cheaper than most places, but I can't remember exactly how much it was. We ended up getting it from Sun Mary which was for 350 people and cost around $450. I feel like Yeh's was cheaper than that.

            Try Cannelle Patisserie (http://cannellepatisserie.com/)
They have the BEST cakes in Queens and the prices are very reasonable.

I second Cannelle, they did my wedding cakes a year and a half ago, they were beyond delicious and very reasonable. The only caveat being this is not the place to go for elaborately decorated cakes.

I second Jollybebakery. Again, I have a connection to the owner, but I have also been a paying customer, and the cakes are as delicious as they are beautiful. Also, unlike many wedding cake bakers who do only a few flavor combinations (on the theory that the cake is really for show), Jollybebakery has a big menu of choices and is very willing to come up with something new or unique.
