Preferably a fish joint like Lenny's of Cross Bay but a diner or some casual eatery would be appreciated. Thanks

Major's Steak House in East Meadow, standard preparation of batter and marinara sauce. Prob the best i have ever had and a huge portion, not expensive.

Nicky's of Centerport, on Little Neck Road. Consistently tender calamari, excellent fried shrimp, and good mussels. They usually have a decent lobster special. Nice neighborhood bar. Very casual, good prices.

Honest to God, you can hardly swing a cat on Long Island without hitting fried calamari...

You beat me to the punch. There are 4 Italian restaurants at every intersection on Long Island -- one on each corner, with plans to open a drive through in the center. And every one of them has calamari.

I knew that .Living both on the "ISLAND" via Brooklyn most of my life and being an Italian not all has been good.Vincents Clam Bar was a weekly visit both the one in Carle Place and on Mott and Hester I also enjoyed fried calamari and shrimp balls at the Lime House .Not all fish fryers (cooks) know their craft. What I was trying to determine who makes it good .Scunge (scungilli) Thanks
