I am driving my daughter to alabama to college. Below is the route I am taking. Can anyone suggest a GREAT place to stop and eat (diner style...mom n' pop atmosphere) .
I was hoping to find them as close to my route as possible...

Middlesex Diner Carlisle PA on I-81. Nice diner meal earlier this summer.
You'll be close to the Ridgewood Restaurant, not a diner, but noted for its bbq, as you go through Johnson City, TN.
