Nutella Gelato

Just came back from a cruise to Europe. We enjoyed nutella gelato on the ship as well as in some of the ports. Anyone know where on Long Island I can find it? It is our new favorite flavor and it is to die for. Does International Cafe in Bellmore have that flavor?

  1. I'm not familiar with places on LI to find gelato. However, frequently when in a local gelateria, if I'd like the "Nutella gelato" taste, I will simply order chocolate and hazelnut in one cup and eat them together. The combination (which they sometimes offer as a single flavor) is referred to as "gianduja". Pretty close to the Nutella sensation.

Thanks, that sounds like it should work, and you must agree that it is a great combination!

      Thanks again.

    2. If you find a place serving gelato, look for a flavor called "Baci", which is what the hazelnut (nocciolo) and chocolate flavor combination is often called.

That's right; Baci (kisses in Italian) are the name of the wonderful nocciolo/chocolate candies made by Perugina. "Baci", "gianduja", or just mixing the flavors together should all work. Enjoy!
