Rhode Island to Alabama Road Trip..Great diners anywhere ??

I am driving my daughter to alabama to college. Below is the route I am taking. Can anyone suggest a GREAT place to stop and eat (diner style...mom n' pop atmosphere) .
I was hoping to find them as close to my route as possible...

As far as your destination, as I am sure others will tell you, you MUST go to Dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa.

I unfortunately am not all that familiar with the rest of your journey in re: eateries along the way. Good luck!
