Hakkasan Spice Sobe

Don't do it. Very disappointing. Food is great but value is poor and it is one thing if you go to eat the "regular" food there and know ahead that you are going to have to take out a second mortgage to make it past appetizers, but it is an entirely different thing when you go in for spice and expect at least somewhat of a bargain and not get one.

If you go to hakka, eat the regular menu. The spice is no bargain because the portions are half the "normal" size. And the normal size is tiny.

    1. Thanks for the head's up! Was dying to try some of the restaurants at the fountain blue - now I'm starting to think that they might all be the same way.

Agree, scarpetta is worth it. Just back in town and forgot about Spice. Spaghetti seemed to be same size as regular menu, also offered Duck and Foie Ravioli as an option, but didn't see portion. Definitely one of the most filling Spice menus in memory.

      1. I agree 100%, tpigeon. We went Sunday and, after having to ask for the spice menu, found it not only lackluster but also that it must be 1/2 portions. We went with the regular menu and had a fantastic meal. Quite frankly, I think that if you stay away from the booze and drink tap water (avoiding the $9 Voss bottle), it may be possible to have a good meal for under $50 there. Im not looking at menu pricing right now but I do remember some good apps at about $18 and sweet/sour pork entree being around $18.
