Farm-fresh eggs?

Hello all,

Need to source a supplier for the absolute freshest eggs in downtown Toronto for a recipe. Perhaps one of our many farmers markets has such a vendor? I live in Parkdale but will travel anywhere within the city!

Many thanks in advance.

Try Dufferin Grove farmers market, Thursday at 3PM.
Or St. Lawrence Market, north, Saturday at 7 AM.
If you are too late, they are gone.

Try the Apple Tree, early, starting at 3 pm every thursday. $5 a dozen. Very fresh and tasty.

I second the north farmers market at SLM. There is a lovely older couple who sell farm fresh eggs, both brown and white. They are a lovely treat and truly taste better than those that are grocery store purchased.

Oh that couple is lovely -- they also sell pies if I recall? I think the guy who does flowers over at the east side of the north market also has eggs if you get there early. They are excellent -- not sure if he still does them but they used to be the best.

Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that. I don't think they're selling pies, but their eggs really are delicious. Be sure to get there early for the brown eggs as they've been selling out quite fast the last few weeks.

I like to get up early, go to the north market and get some eggs and whatever I feel like putting into an omelet, then go home and make my wife and I breakfast. One of my favourite Toronto experiences actually.
