Brisket -

Where can you buy a 10 - 12# brisket to smoke and or bar-b-que (at home) in the Baltimore/DC area?

I bought a really nice brisket at the Adam's Morgan Harris Teeter. They apparently get shipments every day around 3-4pm of brisket. I suggest calling the butcher though to make sure they have exactly what you want.

I'm late to the party but I can vouch for the former El Grande in Springfield (on Backlick). Picked up about 30# of brisket last year at $1.99/lb, trimmed off the hanging fat, and smoked the remainder for about 14 hours with most excellent results.

I'm about a mile from the mercado on Telegraph so will give them a try this weekend and maybe fire the smoker up on Sunday.

I had a similar idea! If they're out of brisket at Bestway, I apologize beforehand. That would be my fault!

Bestway off North King's Highway and Telegraph Road. Usually $1.99 a pound.

Also the former El GRande in Springfield (they've got a new name now which I can't recall)

My Butcher and More, at Clocktower Place in Annapolis had whole briskets on sale a few weeks ago. Plenty of fat stlll on. We smoked it for 7 hours (had to cut it in half to fit!) and it was superb.

I went to the one in Baltimore - they didn't have it. Maybe I'll try the one in Arlington. Thanks!
