Pizza in Alaska

I'm back again researching the next installment of the Serious Eats pizza column:

Since we're going alphabetically, I'm now in search of info on pizza in Alaska. So if you or anyone has the lowdown on the Alaskan pizza scene, please post here or email:

Thanks everyone!

  1. Nver tried pizza in alaska but the anchorage daily news rates them in their food section.

    1. The Mooses Tooth is the best. Absolutely amazing! They also make an awesome whole wheat crust. Mmmm-mmm! If you like beer, they brew their own here, the apple ale is my fav. but my hubby likes the darker brews.

      1. Finn's, located on the Spit in Homer, gets my vote. Wood fired, all organic ingredients, thin crust, not smothered with toppings -- just right. A favorite is the Blue Pear -- sliced pear and gorgonzola, finished with fresh basil and pine nuts. Special pizzas feature the best local ingredients. It is truly one of Homer's hidden gems.

I completely forgot about this. Of course I only was thinking of Anchorage since I live here, but Finns is also an excellent choice. =) My hubby and I ate here on our honeymoon. =)

        2. Moose's Tooth is my favorite in Anchorage but lets not forget that Alaska is a big state. Juneau has a couple great places.....try the wood fired pizza at the Island Pub - actually in Douglas - crispy/chewy crust with excellent and imaginative toppings. Pizzaria Roma for a lovely garlicky adventure. Wash it all down with an Alaskan beer made here - the White is my current fav. MMMMMM

          1. I agree, that in Anchorage, Mooses Tooth can't be beat.
