Bored on a summer day - Make ice cream

OK I admit it. I'm bored. I don't feel like doing anything. It's my first summer in eastern North America (Montreal) in 35b years. I've visited in summer, but haven't lived here for that time. I feel like I'm walking around in a wet sponge! So what to do?

MAKE ICE CREAM of course. I made 3 type today, fresh blueberry, chocolate chip with 3 types of chocolate and a rich vanilla. I've taken some of the ice cream ( I made 10 liters of each) and made some interesting ice cream sandwiches. For that I baked chocolate chip, chocolate, ginger and sugar cookies.

What is your favorite summer treat that you make. No store bought treats please!

  1. Sounds delicious!

I just made grape granita from the grapes on my arbor. Hand pressed them through a sieve - nice thick juice . . . added a slight amount of the syrup from some recently canned whole plums, then froze it immediately - stirring every couple of hours. Incredibly refreshing and delicious on a warm Napa day:-)

    1. I just made some of the lambic sorbet I saw posted on here. Framboise sorbet was very tasty.

      1. I have now become a "soft touch" for some of my neighbourhood kids and ice cream sandwiches.

I baked some more cookies today and made Orange/tangerine ice cream and cocolate chunk ice cream.
