I'm inviting 24+ family and friends for a chinese banquet style dinner. I need a place that accepts plastic or a personal check. Any recommendations or suggestions? Richmond district is okay.

In the Richmond, Kirin is a good bet -- recent report on banquet here:

Last week I attended a small dinner at Golden River on Geary @ 22nd, next door to Ton Kiang. Looks like different owners now with new tablecloths and a more upscale remodel. For the most part, all the dishes were prepared well except for one (lamb claypot) which had way too much corn starch. The fish and other seafood dishes were all cooked perfectly, as was the garlic pea sprouts.

Although I think their policy is to charge for corkage, our group had 2 bottles and we were not charged. One extra star for that. They would have room for 24+ since they have about a 1/2 dozen large round tables.

I had dinner and dim sum there a few years ago. Excellent choice, going to book this place for our dinner.
