Best patios this summer

Hi Everyone ---
I'm celebrating my birthday soon and I'm looking for a restaurant with a great patio in the city...anywhere downtown up to yorkville...and preferably a place with a great beer selection...

Thanks!

Sidecar has a great patio. My husband, who loves draft beer, was unimpressed by the draft selection but there were lots of different bottled kinds. It's a really lovely patio -- among the best I've been to in Toronto.

Please please don't go to Cafe Volo. Bad food and even worse service!

I haven't ate there, but I've gone many times for beer. I've always had excellent service at Volo. The patio is also one of the few on Yonge Street. They have a rotating selection of 10-15 craft beers on tap, plus they always seem to have a couple casks. Their bottle list is probably the best in the city too. I didn't recommend this because I haven't tried the food, but they certainly do have a great beer selection and a nice patio.

I concur. I've always had good service at Volo and the beer selection is superb. Have never experienced the patio personally but it's set back from Yonge Street on a side street so can't be that bad.

I also really like the beer and patio at Volo. But also know nothing of the food, aside from cheese boards (which I can recommend).

La Palette is another bistro with a good beer list, and while I haven't eaten on the patio, people-watching in Kensington is definitely an atmosphere all its own.

I was curious when you said this, but I looked up their menu and their beer list is fantastic! I guess when I went here I didn't even look at it. They have a great selection of trappist ales/tripels and their Canadian list is heavily Unibroue.

The patio there is also very nice.

i like the patio there; but, if u like to people watch on a patio, wrong place. you'll be staring at the back of the Globe and Mail building.

Beer Bistro at Yonge/King may work for you. It certainly does have among the best beer selections in Toronto.

Given your post on the Zucca thread, it sounds like you're looking for a spot for $30 or under? If so, then I would recommend Sidecar. It has a great patio out back, and Sun - Wed, they have a great $24 prix fixe menu. Even if you don't order the prix fixe, you can still do an app and entree or an entree and dessert for under $30.
