Will have a car - picking up my son and would like to go to lunch somewhere within 10-15 min so he can get back to work?

You might want to give more parameters beyond how far you're willing to drive. What are you looking for? What aren't you looking for?
Downtown Hartford is within 15 minutes and there are tons of places to eat there. West Hartford is the same.

W Hartford is fine if I can get zippy parking!

yeah, West Hartford (the "center" which is the restaurant hub of the town) has anything but zippy parking.

Dave (below) has some great suggestions that are very near Trinity itself. Of his recs I've been to Coyote Flaco and I really like it. I'm sure the others are good too.

Firebox is a good recommendation. They use local ingredients. They are not inexpensive.

El Serape. Homey Mexican hole-in-the-wall. 931 Broad St.

Piolin. Decent Peruvian. 417 New Britain Ave

Trinity Restaurant on Zion St., across from the Trinity campus, is my rec. Great home made pastas, salads, even burgers. Casual. BYOB.
