Help! - seeking great mid-range trendy spot with good food

Hi there- I'm surprising my husband with a trip to NYC (From Toronto) for our third wedding anniversary.

I'd like to make a booking on a Saturday night at a restaurant that has a trendy vibe and great food but isn't over the top $$$. I'm looking for $200 or so including wine. I have been trawling the boards looking for recommendations but haven't found anything that quite fits.

Any tips highly recommended! We're 31 and 33 as an FYI and I don't eat red meat.

Thanks in advance!

Perhaps Aquagrill in Soho? My husband and I walked in there the other weekend without a reservation and it was hopping! Lively bar scene, cool outdoor space and good food. Great spot if you love raw bar.
