Downtown on a Monday Night - anywhere good?

Anyone know of anything below 20th street that would be good on a Monday night around 10p, with a vibrant bar scene? I have a friend visiting and don't want to take them anywhere dead. Thanks!
Just came from Barrio Chino, and LeahBaila is correct - it's a mob scene on Mondays (and every other day of the damn week, it seems). This annoys me, because I'd like to just walk into a place in my own neighborhood - ON A MONDAY - and have a peaceful dinner. Whatever. The wait was a scant half hour; we cooled our heels over glasses of wine at The Ten Bells, and the Barrio Chino hostess called us when our table was ready.
I was with my cousin from LA who was all like "why are you taking me to a Mexican restaurant in Manhattan when I live in LA, yo?" Then she shut up, because the guac was very good, and she liked her lime margarita and her enchiladas de mole. I had the camarones borrachos. The shrimp were overcooked, but the sauce was dead on. My grapefruit margarita was served with sugar on the rim, which was horrifying. I asked for salt for my second round. Much better.
