The plastic film (plastic wrap) from the supermarket is too flimsy for my clumsy fingers. It wraps itself to itself faster than I can get it to wrap a bowl, etc. My local Safeway carries only two brands, neither of which is satisfactory. Is there an online source for a heavy plastic wrap?
Thanks for your help.

If you have a COSTCO near you, try the Kirkland brand plastic food wrap. It is a little heavier than other brands and comes with a sliding cutter.

A lot of their stuff can be ordered on line. I don't know if this can be or not,

I agree, but have noticed that the "Professional" platice wrap from Sam's Club is actually heavier than the Costco Kirkland plastic wrap.

While I like the overall cutter design of the Kirkland better, if thickness of plastic is an issue for you, try to find the one sold at Sam's. For most purposes, either would be fine.

I don't want to imagine what you're going to get hit with for shipping charges on that, the restaurant rolls are HEAVY.

Hit a warehouse store for the restaurant rolls of wrap. Costco will have it. If you don't have a Costco membership, there's a regional warehouse chain called Smart & Final (it looks from your profile that you're in the San Francisco area, there's a bunch of 'em around) that carries it too. It's a 3,000 foot by 18 inch roll for around $15. By contrast, Saran wrap is $3 for a 200 foot long, 12 inch wide roll. I bought one of the restaurant rolls about two and a half years ago and I'm nowhere NEAR done with it. Note that it is heavy; you do have to muscle it around a bit. The easiest technique to work with the big rolls is to put the food you're wrapping on the counter in front of the box (or hold the food up with one hand). Pull the wrap over the food, wrap it on the side closest to you, then use your forearm just in front of the blade to push the wrap over the blade. It never gets tangled on itself this way, and you're done in about five seconds.

You could store the roll in the freezer between uses and it won't get all stuck to itself when you try and use it. Just the frig would probably work too
