Oregon Coast Eats between Tillamook and Newport
I'm preparing for a week long return to the Oregon Coast to visit family. We'll be staying in Pacific City area and the Gleneden Beach area. I'm looking to try some new places this trip instead of the old standby touristy places (Mo's, Chowder Bowl, etc). We'll be celebrating my dad's 70th Birthday at Roseanna's Cafe in Oceanside, so I'll report on that, but appreciate any current data on the place. That leaves 6 more nights.
We'll probably eat at home a couple nights, so I'd appreciate any suggestions on where to buy Fresh Seafood and Shellfish in the same region. ie, where do the locals go these days.
Finally, my wife needs to stay gluten-free, so any restaurants or stores with that specialty would be appreciated.
Thank you
In Newport, have Cioppino and other good and healthy seafood at Sharks.
Also see the (good) Rogue Brewery cafe in the (great) Oregon State Aquarium, and take home a bomber of Imperial Stout.

Definitely planning a stop at Rogue Brewery, and didn't realize they have a cafe at the Aquarium, which we are also visiting. So thanks for that. Haven't been there since before Keiko left.

Yum, can't wait to hear your report on Roseanna's, one of my favorite places! There are a couple of places in Lincoln City that are good. Also you can't beat the food at the Pelican Brewery in Pacific City. A big bowl of steamed clams, yum! There is a seafood market right on the main drag just south of Lincoln City that is good I think Mr. Bills. Try any of the smoked salmon or candied salmon at anywhere you can get it.
Try everything at the South Beach fish market in Newport.

If you want something very nice and excellent food try the Delicate Palate in Pacific City. It is a restaurant as part of a motel at the south end of town. Gourmet food (chef originally from Napa valley, CA area) and nice atmosphere. 20-30 dollar dinners but well worth it. Reservations recommended. If you love good food, stay away from the Pelican Brewery, we were very disappointed there. It has a great location but other than microbrews, the pub food was almost pub food.

I recently had dinner at Local Ocean on the main drag in Newport (toward the east end) and was really pleased. Their pan-fried oysters were phenomenal. My friend is a vegetarian, and the staff was very encouraging and suggested dishes that could be accommodated. My only disappointment was that I didn't have enough room in my stomach for the lingcod cheeks entree!

Disneyblog, this is such a great question. I am a celiac and going to the coast at the end of this month. All of these suggestions are so enticing. I hope to try many of them.
If you are cooking at home a couple of nights, I have heard South Beach Fish Market is great for buying fresh seafood. I intend to check that out myself.
I would also recommend grocery shopping at the local co-op in Newport. They are a great little store.

Roseanna's is off and on really.
The Schooner is in Netarts along the way and has improved in really huge ways recently. They have amazing sliders which are sadly only on the bar menu pretty late (don't remember when)
But they always are cooking pizza and it's really, really good homemade pizza. A pizza from the Schooner and a pitcher of Black Butte Porter is one of the greatest things ever. Open up with some sliders if you're at the bar later and you're golden.
