good Cajun food - at 28th & Burnside (Portland)
We were looking for an African restaurant I'd heard about, which appeared closed. We continued looking around for something new and wonderful to eat. WE FOUND IT!
Tapalaya - Bites of New Orleans.
My husband is a confirmed liver-hater. He stole one of my bites - the chicken livers with red pepper jelly.
The fried greentomatoes are even better than my mom's (shh- don't tell her I said so.)
Duck confit with sweet potato waffle - amazing
The gumbo is pricy (for a small portion) - but is so totally worth it.
Only complaint was that I was too full to contemplate dessert - I MUST go back!
