Best Yakitori place in Hong Kong?
I'm curious if you guys have any good yakitori recommendations. I tried searching for older threads but came up empty. Preferably on HK Island but I'm flexible. Just a great place to get a few beers with your buddies and much on some great yakitori. Thanks!

Try http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr... in Happy Valley. Pretty authentic and good food. There are more authentic ones in Kowloon but this is my fav in HK.

HKTraveler - which ones in Kowloon do you think are more authentic? Would love to give them a try. Thx.

suggest either
五味鳥 http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=1031
or
鳥燒居 http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr...
if u want something with a nicer atmosphere as opposed to a smoky yakitori joint, then definitely the second one.

Hmm, we gave 御串燒 in Happy Valley a try on Saturday and it was pretty mediocre--not bad, but again, just mediocre. I was also stunned by how much the menu resembled the one from Nantei (formerly Nanbantei), which coincidentally opened a location across the street. Strange.

That's unfortunate. I do like the food there quite a bit. Have you had a chance to try the Kowloon ones?

Haven't yet but would love to try them soon. Thanks again for the recommendations.
What do you think about Bicho in Causeway Bay?

Wai wai, 401-403 Lockhart Road. Largest shochu collection in HK too, and it's linked to a karaoke place called Music Box, which is just like being in Tokyo!

I can't say they're the best, but Magushi on Peel St. and Nantei on Staunton St. are a couple of good "beer with buddies" places...

i like ajitomi on 7/F of circle tower but it's not the typical izakaya atmosphere. their food is good but it's a rather serene atmosphere...
