A question about an old Cuisinart I had, I believe a DLC7, anyway, the first one with a really wide-mouth aperture. I had every blade for it and it was my best friend until one day it suddenly shorted out and died. Disaster! I immediately got another but alas, It must have been another DLC because the blades didn't fit. So her I am, many years later, with all those wonderful blades just sitting there waiting to be used. Can any of you help me ini this dilemma? I've tried to locate an old machine just for sentimental reasons, but please, how do I dispose of all those beautiful blades?

Wow, similar experience. My very much used DLC7 which I bought in 1981 (with the original narrow feed tube, no less) just up and died while making Christmas cookies this year. The motor just gave way. I replaced it with Cuisinart® Custom 14™ Cup Food Processor - Black Chrome, which I got at Bed, Bath & Beyond http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=15847476 with a 20 percent off coupon for $160. All of the blades from my original fit, as does the bowl (which I've replaced with the wide feed tube three times over the years). I don't think the motor is quite as powerful as the original, but it does the job.

Go to google and paste this into the search box

cuisinart dlc7 site:craigslist.org

it will find anyone in the country selling a DLC7

If you do go to BB&B they'll price match any other major competitor AND take the 20% off coupon. I just picked up a Prep 11 plus for under $100 by waving a Bloomingdales ad at them.
