Lists - Limited to 26 places?
I can't seem to add more than 26 places to my list.
I also haven't seen more than 26 places on other hounds' lists.
Is this an enforced maximum or just an oversight?
Please let there be no limit, or at least one that is reasonably useful (like >100).
Otherwise, it seems like the Lists concept is doomed. We'll just end up with tons of dispersed lists containing only a handful of places.
I'm making a list of ethnic markets in Queens and 26 just ain't gonna cut it.
I've found that separating Places by a smaller area/neighborhood, often within some other category, works pretty well. Usually I don't use lists that cover a geographically huge area. I like lists that are likely to show places to visit in case I'll be nearby for some non-food reason.
For me, large lists just seem to be unwieldy, especially when looking at their resulting Map. OTOH I don't like the arbitrary limit.
I hope that the upcoming improvements *cough* to the Places feature will allow for temporary (?) overlaying/joining of multiple lists like Google Maps does. I say 'temporary' for the same reasons above.
re: Stephanie Wong
Yes, I'm planning on separating them by region...but I imagine that's going to get complicated as the list gets bigger. For instance, certain neighborhoods will probably have 50 worthwhile markets. It's going to be a pain to then start splitting the original lists based on streets, etc.
I think that it's kind of silly to have a limit of 26, especially since it seems rather arbitrary.
Most likely, I probably will not want to bother with reorganizing the lists every so often as a 27th market opens. Hopefully this will not be an issue if Lists gets out of the beta stage.
