Long Beach Get-Together Help Por Favor.....

Can anyone suggest a restaurant for a Sunday lunch get-together in the Long Beach area for about 20 people. Would like a fun(ish) atmosphere but not too loud, Open to any and all suggestions. TIA

    1. Parker's Lighthouse in Shoreline Village. Food's good. Sit out on the patio for a view of the Queen Mary. Close to the shops and the theaters for more fun afterwords.

respectfully disagree about the food at parker's lighthouse.
i was only at parker's lighthouse once, and was completely underwhelmed by the food.
rarely go to long beach, maybe this is as good as it gets there. . . .

You could be right. I haven't been in a long time, but remembered that it was good last I was there. Quality could have gone down since I was last there. Worse comes to worst, there's always the Yard House in Shoreline Village...the group could have lots of beer and some really good appetizers there.

            2. The new Hotel Maya, near the Queen Mary, has a restaurant, Fuego, that has a great outdoor patio overlooking the water with a nice view of downtown LB. I ate there last weekend (a Yucatan style tamale and some seriously good tacos that reminded me of some of the simple street vendor tacos I have had in Mexico). It is not a Mexican restaurant but has so-called Latin American themed foods.

Another place with a fun atmosphere and water view is Tantalum, which serves steaks and seafood with maybe a bit of an Asian-Pacific tilt...sort of.

                    1. Possibly you were looking for someplace today, in which case this is too late.

For 20 people the Lucille's at the Town Square works nicely. The Long Beach branches are pretty good.

Still open--not going for a few weeks. :)

I don't know if Delius is too elegant but it isn't all that expensive for Sunday brunch. You might ask if they can handle a group that big. (Just don't order fish). It isn't loud.
It's closer to Signal Hill than downtown Long Beach and freeway convenient if everyone is coming from afar.
