Jax by the Truckee Tracks - Good breakfast fare.
Recently stopped by this relatively new venture - Jax by the Truckee Tracks. In the old Truckee Diner space. Had a very good stack of buttermilk pancakes - syrup was good and the little cup of fruit was surprisingly good: ripe and flavorful. Other breakfast items on our table looked good - straight forward breakfast items - properly done. ( bacon & eggs )
Pleasant space - one side of the building is the old diner space / counter - still has that great old feel to it. If the breakfast food is any indication, this place is worth a try for lunch or dinner.

Thanks alot for this. There don't seem to be all that many places that early. We're at the lake but would make the drive for a just plain breakfast. Oh, do they have parking? Is that side metered now?

there is a pretty large parking lot right next to the diner ..... no meters that I noticed.

A friend and I had dinner the Friday after their opening. Packed but well worth the wait . I had the Kobe Beef Meatloaf and it was amazing. My friend had the Crab Cake sandwich special and you could taste the crab. First thing I did Monday was to email all my friends and tell them about it. Food was amazing - Service friendly and effecient - and it's Family Friendly! Can't wait to go back!
