Dinner for 10-12, private table/room, fun atmosphere?

I'm trying to put together a going-away dinner for a friend of about 10 or 12 people and am trying to find restaurants that give you a little private space (like the big table at Barbuto, which is booked, or the semi-private space at L'artusi) without that serious hermetically-sealed Private Room feeling. Any thoughts? She loves places like inoteca, fig and olive, spotted pig, la bottega, palma- girlish foodie in other words. Or is there anywhere that has group seating outdoors? thanks!
