L'Artusi Recommendations?

Hi,

I'm having dinner at L'Artusi tomorrow and was hoping for recommendations for dishes to order. I've tried searching and maybe people suggest the resto but never really talk about dishes. Only thing that's caught my eye is the orchetti with sausage.

Any help hounders? Wanna make the most of this visit.

TIA -K

More updates...I was back again last night :)

The roasted mushroom appetizers really blew me away. Served with a fried egg - sunny side up to be cracked over over the dish. The mushrooms were very tender but still had some body to it, served alongside super crisp pieces of panchetta which are to DIE for and shredded ricotta. (We repeated the scallops and endives and boy did everyone love the endives)

Shared the bianco bolognese (still amazing), the octopus and the hanger steak. The hanger steak was the only dish i would not order again. They cooked it perfectly, a nice dark pink medium rare and was served with delicious crispy baby potatoes. But the crust around the hanger steak was pure salt. It made it rather unpleasant cause of the burn. The octopus was also cooked well, not chewy or rubbery at all. the tips were a litle charred and crispy, while the thicker portions were tender and moist.

Still can't go wrong with this place :)

      Leah,

This review is for you :) Dinner was delicious!! got there early and waited at the bar. I'm currently not drinking and the bartender was happy to make a virgin cocktail for me. We were seated in the semi private room upstairs and since there were 6 of us, it was really nice and easy to have conversation.

now the food...we started with the hamachi, fluke and scallop crudos & the grilled endive. the hamachi was my fave of the 3 though all were good and well sized! each of us had a piece with a couple to spare. the fluke i would probably skip in the future. th grilled endive was amazing!! topped with the nutty pecorino. i could have eaten that whole plate.

I had the bolognese bianco. OMG i could have eaten 3 bowls of it. but i stopped myself. this is probably my new favorite bolognese...sooooo good. it wasn't a cream sauce...but it was topped with pecorino which made it just creamy enough. (prob why i loved it so much). the pasta was a dual sided tagiatelle - one spinach one egg. together = heaven. i also took a taste of the spaghetti with green garlic. it was really good but it felt like vongole without the clams which kinda seem pointless.

we got the panna cotta and olive oil cake for dessert. not much for dessert but i tried the olive oil cake. it was definitely moist and my kinda dessert. simple and light.

Wow Kelea, what great feedback!! Thanks so much for taking the time out to report back. I'm so glad that you all enjoyed yourselves! That white bolognese sounds really, really good. I really enjoy sitting upstairs, as it's more intimate. However, dining at the bar is also wonderful.
        I'm happy you're happy! :)

The orecchiette w/ sausage is great, indeed. I've also enjoyed the cavatelli and of course, the spaghetti & meatballs (though I'm not seeing them on the menu I'm looking at, hmmm?).
For apps, I like: grilled endive; green asparagus.
