Emergency help...

  • 5

Hello~

My husband just called me in dire need of some help with a reservation tomorrow night. He's in Chicago for the ABA mtg and is having dinner with a friend tomorrow night. He has a reservation for some steak place, but it turns out that the friend will be dining there tonight. So, he needs to redo his res for tomorrow. He's looking for an upscale type restaurant {they'll already be in coats from the mtg} with good food and a good wine list. No steak, but anything else is fine. Mostly, we just need a reservation for 7 between 6:30-9pm on a Friday.

Any help would be appreciated!!

  1. Here are some more local's options in the casual fine dining (white table cloths and fine wines, but no ties required). These are all places I eat in a semi-regular basis and are all in the downtown (River North) area.

    Aigre Doux - http://www.aigredouxchicago.com/

    Naha - http://www.naha-chicago.com/

    Topolobambo - http://www.rickbayless.com/restaurant...

    1. Do an Opentable search. http://www.opentable.com
I just took a look and seven people
makes it a bit more difficult but you
shouldn't really have a hard time
depending on what your looking for
      or willing to spend.

      1. Yikes, a party of 7 at an upscale place on Friday with one day's notice isn't easy. hoppy2468's suggestion to scan opentable is a good one. jbontario's nod to Naha is good - very nice space with a varied menu, all executed quite well. A different option to consider would be Jean Joho's Brasserie Jo. A good place for a group of that size to be able to relax and let down their hair, a bit, but still hit the mark for a nice place to be out and about.

        1. re: Original Kman

          I can't believe I wrote 7, I meant 7pm...

It's for 2 ppl between 6-9pm. Sorry! I think they're going to try Publican.

Oh - BIG difference. :) Publican is good, quite good. Now that it's only two, though, I'd suggest considering some of Chef Kahan's other establishments such as Blackbird (takes reservations) or next-door neighbor Avec (no res's).
