Check out Bia in the Majestic Hotel. It is a great little byob and you can even sit outside on the front porch and see the ocean.

While I definitely respect the above posters recommendations (especially fershore), I think the OP can do a lot better than Moonstruck or Bia. While they both had originally held some promise (which in Moonstruck's case was pre-Asbury Park move), most recent dinners were disappointing. To be quite honest, my only go to restaurant in that area is Stella Marina.

Moonstruck in Asbury Park. It's a very short and pleasant walk to the auditorium.
