Help! Can't Miss Finale of Nxt Food Network Star!! (moved from Boston board)

ConnieKevin Jul 29, 2009 01:28 PM

Hello. We are hoping others might help us solve our dilemma. We're from Washington, DC area and will be in Boston next week for MIT class (Kevin) and work (Connie).

But, we're HUGE fans of NFNS and our hotel does not offer it on cable. We even called other hotels to try to find one.

We will DVR it, but cannot wait a week to know who won.

I'm hoping that this blogsite includes other silly foodies hooked on this show.

Any suggestions??

I'm going to post a question about this to people on Twitter to see if they might know where you can watch it in Boston. I'll hopefully get back to you with some answers soon!

I am totally hooked on that show as well. My advice is to find a place that's usually very quiet on Sunday nights and see if the bartender might turn to that channel. Places I can think of that may be willing to do it are The Last Hurrah within the Omni Parker House downtown, Geoffrey's Cafe in Roslindale, O'Sullivan's in Somerville, the Thirsty Scholar in Somerville, and the Cambridge Brewery in Cambridge. These are places I know of that have generally been amenable to channel changes in the past, and are likely to be quiet on a Sunday night.

Marliave will put on Food Network during slow times instead of ESPN before the after work crowd moves in. They may be more willing to do so on a dead Sunday night.

HiddenBoston and CHOW saved the day! We saw the show at the Cambridge Brewing Company. Great food, beer and company. It was terrific and we would not have found it without Chow and you! Many thanks. ---ConnieKevin

if you look at the Food Media & News Board you'll see that TNFNS is discussed at length here.

Thank you. I did and I'm going to contact some of the folks who posted recently -- and positively -- about the show.

So silly, but we find it fun.

            Thanks again. ---connie
