New Haiku in White Plains

Went with another couple to the new Haiku where awful Acapulco was. It was packed on a Tuesday night. Too muggy to sit outside but it did not rain . We opted for inside. For a new opening it was smooth as silk with attentive, knowledgeable service. I would have done without getting the check before asking. We were hanging around a bit. These Asian places always have a bit of an edge but this was tops for the genre.

I just had a yellowtail roll appetizer and Pad Thai noodles. Good sake selection.

Too bad they did not have the crispy Chilean Sea Bass they serve in Bronxsville.

Lots of eye candy. White Plains has a hit.

Could it be a hit? Perhaps. Will it have legs? We will all have to see.
Right now it seems to be some thing new-"new car smell". Something for some to check out.

I am thinking of Tango Grill just up the street.......and it opened in a "good market".

If it is well run it should have legs. It is a great location with outside seating. Popular priced unlike Tango. Plenty of lunch and dinner business potential. It is a big step up from typical Chinese run sushi dens. Entry level upscale like PF Chang or Cheesecake.
