Does anyone know where they get them? Or do they make them themselves.

They taste like the make them or someone does for them. Not industrial at all. Ask maybe they'll sell em to you on the side. What are they half sours? You could try making your own...

Ever spend a bunch of time looking for a thread because you're pretty sure the answer was posted at one time? Interestingly in the following link the chowers say that Johnnie's and the Bear Pit use pickles from the same source. Perhaps the Bear Pit now makes their own, but it would be interesting if someone who likes to drive could try the pickles from both places and see how similar the pickles are. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/450526

Are you talking about Johnnie's Pastrami on Sepulveda? Never been. Have you asked them? We love the pickles at the Bear Pit in Mission Hills, finally broke down & asked, & they make them there.
