SD: Dinner at Farmhouse Cafe, pre-dinner drinks?

We're driving to San Diego on Saturday and meeting some friends for dinner at Farmhouse Cafe. I'm looking for suggestions for pre-dinner drinks. I've looked at google maps and there doesn't seem to be anything near there.

Any suggestions?

  1. That is a tricky one, and one reason I do not go to Farmhouse Cafe too much. It is difficult to combo with something else.

Lancers, Red fox room, Jaynes Gastropub or Air Conditioned lounge would be my choices depending on what you are looking for.

But there is nothing that I know of in a 5 block walk.

    1. What kind of drinks? Wine? Beer? Hard A? Is close driving distance okay or would you prefer walking (not much if so)?

Walking would be best, but short drive is okay too. Beer or wine preferably.

      2. Jayne's Gastropub might be a good option. It is just a 5 minutes. (And you could even stay at Jayne's Gastropub for dinner which has better food than Farmhouse).

Thanks! I'll check out Jayne's. Friend chose Farmhouse.
Edited to add: Just checked it out and it's perfect. I wonder why I didn't see it before. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Another good thing about Jaynes Gastropub is you can get a pre or post drink at Air conditioned lounge.

            Right next door.

        2. How about a margarita at Cantina Mayahuel? They have a great selection of tequila and mezcal, and it's about ten blocks away down Adams Ave.

Napoleon vs Alamo. Compare and Contrast.

          1. Jayne's Gastropub was perfect! We loved it and will definitely go back for a meal next time we're in San Diego. We loved the bartender. He really knows his wine.

They have some great wines right now.

They also have a cool wine event coming up I heard about on aug 9th:
