Ice Cream Truck for kid's bday party Fairfield CT
I'm thinking about having an ice cream truck come to my 5 year old's bday party in fairfield. has anyone done this before or have any info on cost? I was curious how pricing works as i will only have 6 kids coming to the party...

I've never done this, but just had an idea that may or may not work. If you have an ice cream truck that comes around your area regularly, you may be able to work a deal with them, especially if it's only 6 kids. Just a thought!

Would you pay $500.00 for a good humor truck to come to your house that day? That's what the minimum was for GH Joe (of Food Network Fame!) to do a party for my friends in Westchester but that was for a big group of people. Why not just fill your freezer with good humor treats if it's so few?

I could - it's just that my son loves the ice cream truck - he can hear it coming from miles away. I might look into the other suggestion and next time I see the ice cream truck in our neighborhood I'll see if they can swing by at a certain time.

The only other thing that is still a liitle pricey is to rent an ice cream stand/cart from Smith Party or Party Line and fill it with ice cream and buy a bell maybe...but it still will be a few hundred dollars I'm sure...good luck!

It is far from $500. I worked with a local ice cream guy for my kids' pre-school truck day in May and he does birthday parties too (but we are in Scarsdale, or I'd suggest calling him).
One of my friends just had him at her son's party last weekend. He showed up at the designated time and was there for about 20-30 minutes, maybe even less (he left when everyone had gotten something). He charged the cost of the ice cream plus $25. Most ice creams/treats are in the $2.00 range. My friend had about 20-25 kids and then some adults got ice cream too. Maybe it was $100 total?
Though, not sure if anyone ice cream man would deem it worthwhile for only 6 kids. I would also suggest seeing if there is a "regular" guy in your neighborhood and just asking them.

Hi Valerie. I live in Scarsdale as well!!!! I know you posted this info a few years back, but I am having a party in a few months and have been trying to locate an ice cream truck. When I read your write up, I couldn't believe how perfect it was! Any chance you can share the info of that ice cream guy you and your friend used?! Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance!

Five minutes ago I passed Mary-The Good Humor Lady. Her truck was marked for Birthday parties call 203-378-1150.
She was on Madison Avenue in Trumbull near the cutoff to Easton.
I couldn't stop, but put down my window and inquired, YES she does Fairfield.

I ended up tracking down our local ice cream truck 2 days before the party and he came to the party, only charged us for the ice cream and I only had 6 kids. He was great - he let the kids get in the truck and take pictures - really cute. we did buy some extra treats for the freezer since he was so nice!
