Kohlrabi in Philadelphia

NYChristopher Jul 29, 2009 07:06 AM

I seem to be striking out. Anyone know where I can find some? I can't seem to locate it anywhere but Iovine's and the one's I saw there are tiny tiny tiny.

the asian supermarket at 4th and spring garden always has it, year-round. my guess is that other asian markets would too....

They had it, whoo-hoo! One of the dishes I'm making for dinner tonite will be Bittman's Mango, Kohlrabi and Cilantro salad (see #8) ... astonishingly good. Do NOT skimp on the cilantro (and me, I don't normally like cilantro!)

Yum! You're not a putz, but it is a little early for kohlrabi here w/ local produce. More and better pretty soon.

Maple Acres Farm grows their own in Plymouth Meeting. I tasted some there a few weeks ago, but I am not sure if it is still in season. It was delicious, they had it for free tastes with some dressing to dip it in.

The Headhouse Square Farmers Market on Sundays should have it if it is still in season.
