I'm a huge craft beer fan from San Diego looking for some Oregon beer and brewery recommendations. I'll be heading to Portland this Friday, staying for the weekend, then renting a car and driving down to San Francisco. I am very willing to go out of my way or plan my route around good breweries or brew pubs. Are there any beers I should taste or breweries I should hit up on the way? Hoping to try some beers that we can't get down in SD. Thanks!!

will not Brewpubs per se, places like Horse Brass, Baileys Taproom, and The Green Dragon have some of the most extensive and well curated tap line ups in PDX. If Belgian beers whet your whistle, try out Victory Bar and North 45......Enjoy Portland!

Go to one of the Rogue establishments - there's one in Portland (distillery and pub), but my recommendation is to go to the brewery in Newport (although there is not a lot of reason to go that far out of your way unless you really want to go to the coast).

Caldera, our best local brewer, just took over the Siskiyou Pub, which was the original Rogue brewery here in Ashland.

Tremendous beers,. On Monday they had a very tasty hibuscus ginger beer and a dry hop orange among others, + Walkabout Workers Pale Ale, another local brewer without tasting facilities.
We also have Southern Oregon brewing in Medford, which has a tap room,

and right down the road aways is the Weed Brewery in Weed Ca.

4 Daughter's Pub in Medford has a wide variety of local and regional+ foreign beers
and very good food as a bonus.
...and though it isn't beer, if you come through Ashlandia on Tuesday, be sure and hit the grower's market.

In addition to the rotating taplist, the brewpub at Belmont Station will also allow you to buy bottles of beer from their huge selection (which includes Alesmith and Stone, though I know you're trying to avoid SD beers) and bring it into the pub. It'll be the best way to sample not only local beers (including some that are only available on draught or growler).

My favorite local brew lately: Upright, especially #6

In Eugene stop at Hop Valley Brewery. Just off I-5, great food and brews.

Some of their best are the Vanilla Porter, Double D Blond, IPA and 541 Lauger.
