We are meeting a friend (we are all coming from NJ) in the city for lunch and some drinks on Weds. One of the ladies of the group (there will be three of us alltogether) suggested DOJA but I have read mixed reviews recently (so-so food and bad service). Can anyone suggest CHEAP alternatives in that area that three ladies would be happy with? There are no dietary or health limitations so as long as its cheap and friendly that would be great. Thanks in advance for the help.

14th St. & W. 4th don't intersect. Do you mean 4th Ave.? If so, Zabb City (very good Thai, beer & wine only) or Republic (asian-y noodle and rice dishes, kinda loud).

Dojo indeed has so-so food and bad service. It's a decent choice if you are an NYU student, but it doesn't seem as if you are, so seek nourishment elsewhere.
