tripe or tongue dishes anywhere nr. 68th and Brdway?

Coming to town for an event on Monday at 68th and Broadway and would like to dine beforehand on either of my two favorite innards, tongue or tripe. I'll go for most any preparation: tripe and noodle soup, tongue tacos, menudo, Szechuan tripe and tongue with chile sauce, whatever, Korean tripe casserole. While I know many places elsewhere in the city to go to, I pretty much want to stay right around the event address this time so any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Other than Lansky's Jewish deli on 70th and the tripe at Salumeria Rosi on 73rd, you're not going to find much in the way of rustic offal. The closest Szechuan tripe and tongue would be 10 blocks to the south at Szechuan Gourmet. The closest lengua and tripas would be 20 blocks to Tehuitzingo or Tulcingo de Valle.

My husband just raved about the tripe at Salumeria Rosi - as did a 'hound from out of town when I took her there a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, yes, and we shared it with another 'hound who rolled her eyes with pleasure.

Are there any Dominican or Cuban or Cuban-Chinese places left around there? In the old days you could always get lengua guisado or mondongo at those places.

There are a coupe: Dinastia China and La Caridad, but they don't have lengua or mondongo.
