Thanksgiving in Marin, new in town

My (soon to be) husband and I are new to Marin and our families are coming into town for Thanksgiving (7 carnivores and 1 vegetarian). We are looking for a place for Thanksgiving dinner. We don't require a traditional Thanksgiving dinner though we are not opposed to it. I saw a post about this same thing from 2002 and have already contacted Deer Park Villa, Insalata, Left Bank & Panama Hotel (my first choice but, sadly, they don't do Thanksgiving).

Any hints or suggestions as to where we could go in the Marin area would be much appreciated!

  1. Pretty sure the restaurants attached to Embassy Suites and Four Points will, but I don't know the names. The Clubhouse at McInness Golf and Rancho Nicasio will. If you can wait until Oct, the restaurants will be advertising their T-giving dinners and buffets in the local papers.

    1. The Lark Creek Inn, now called the Tavern at Lark Creek, does it every year. It does have a nice atmosphere.

      1. Buckeye Roadhouse does a Thanksgiving dinner, but you would want to find out about what's available for vegetarians. I know they have something, but probably not much choice.

        1. Slightly more recent is a list I put together for 2006 for the North Bay

Some stuff as changed. Insalata, as you mentioned seems to have dropped Thanksgiving. Lark Creek is called The Tavern at Lark Creek with a different menu. They just changed this year,so a call would be necessary to see if they are still serving that day.

You might give Murray Circle in Sausalito a call to see if they are serving Thanksgiving dinner. I believe they did last year.

Last year I put together a list of Thanksgiving buffets for the entire Bay Area. There doesn't seem to be anything in Marin with the only buffet in the North Bay in Santa Rosa. However, if you are interested in a buffet, there are a number in SF which is nearby. Buffets have something for everyone.

Nearer to Thanksgiving, opentable puts together a list of what is available in the entire Bay Area, but I put lists together because there's always someone asking in the summer about Thanksgiving recs ... and here you are. I think this is the earliest request so far. August was the previous record. Don't worry too much. I can't think of anyplace that has sold out immediately when opentable puts up the list. Make your reservations now if that makes you comfy, but check in November to see if there's anything that might be a better option. New places open ... and these days ... places close.
