Evening, Can someone recommend a good place to eat small plates or apps and listen to some live music? Food must be good too. Thanks
Bluegrass is Kentucky/Appalachia music. That's nowhere near New Orleans.
not so...I heard some pretty good bluegrass at Mimi's last week...had great food, too
you could order some apps at Jacques Imo's then head next door to Maple Leaf for Rebirth (on Tuesdays) check music schedule for other nights.http://www.jacquesimoscafe.com/http://mapleleafbar.com/
How is the food at Jacques imos, I have heard mixed reviews. Also is there an easy way to get there without a car from the Ritz on Canal? Thanks
I've never had a bad meal at JI's. yes, I've read otherwise, but I haven't experienced anything disappointing there.either a taxi or streetcar there and taxi back if you stay out late.
I don't know of any regular Blue Grass bands that play, although I have seen some pass through town. We'll be out your way in October for the Not Strictly Blue Grass Festival.I would highly recommend Rebirth after Jacques Imos as mentioned earlier.
I've heard the food at Snug Harbor's not half bad and you can find jazz music there as well. As for Blue Grass...wrong state. I recommend Kentucky and the midwest for that.
Check out bacchanal wine bar in the bywater on a Sunday....just google it....it will give you an explanation of what goes on....it's the best kept secret in NOLA.
Hi Ho Lounge has bluegrass and food every Monday. Way more of a bar than a food place, but they have red beans, jambalaya, sometimes other options.http://www.myspace.com/hiholounge
The Tanglers are one local bluegrass band worth checking out: http://www.myspace.com/thetanglers
You can see live jazz and eat appetizers at Irvin Mayfield's place on Bourbon: http://www.sonesta.com/RoyalNewOrlean...
