I am supposed meet some people that live in East Brunswick for dinner tomorrow night.. We will be coming from Manhattan. We are looking for a place that is kind of in between us however, it needs to be close to a train station..

We have tried most of the places in New Brunswick and are not very impressed.. We are not looking for super gourmet or super expensive.. Good food of any level is what we are looking for.

If you can't find something in New Brunswick, what kind of place/food/atmosphere are you looking for?
Have you considered meeting in Newark, where you can get off of NJ Transit or PATH trains and walk just a few blocks down Ferry Street (directly behind Penn Station) and have Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Brazilian (rodizio)? If you do a search on this board for Ironbound (that's what that section of Newark is called), you'll find a ton of recommendations.

Just about halfway between NYC and NB is the wonderful David Drake in Rahway. This is a surprising choice of town for this restaurant, it is top drawer in every way, IMHO. Drake continues to weave food artwork out of his kitchen. A wonderful experience.
