Mythos, Glen Rock NJ, any thoughts

Anyone have any thoughts good or bad about Mythos in Glen Rock?

Mythos is wonderful. I have eaten there several times and enjoy the fish, lamb and Greek specialties. I think Mythos is much better than Oceanos.

I haven't made it there yet, but am tempted.

I've heard that this place isn't at all like Oceanos, but is something on the order of Axia in Tenafly. If that's true, that's great, because Axia is very, very good. BTW, does Mythos have outdoor seating (Axia has a GREAT outdoor terrace)

it's certainly nothing like Oceanos, if the menu is any indication. that's why i'm curious about the comparison.

haven't been to Axia. heard nothing but good things. it seems there are more greek places than red sauce places these days. a good thing.

Axia is awesome, really really inventive Greek dishes, and the fish! Whole fish, fresh, cooked to perfection. Great ambience and a LARGE selection of hard-to-find Greek wines. The outdoor terrace is divine.

1. Nisi
2. Oceanos
3. Varka
4. Axia
5. Mythos

oceanos is the best all around
they really care about their customers great greek fish and raw bar
a little pricey but share an entree and have a few starters
outdoor dining also

It has a few tables outside but it is like sidewalk dining. They were along the side of the building and not gathered in a patio setting.

Does anyone know what happened to Mythos. We had gone a few months back and it seemed to be doing ok. We mentioned going back to some friends and they said they went in late September and it was closed.

The owner converted back to Jalapenos.

Give Greek City Restaurant on Rt 17 N in Ramsey a try(in Kohls strip mall), you will be pleasantly surprised. Pretty setting and great food. Your hosts, I believe they are brothers make you feel at home.

I have eaten there twice for lunch, and the food was delicious. The zucchini cakes were excellent, and the salmon lunch special was tasty.

My husband and I ate here for the first time on Friday and we really enjoyed it. They have a pretty large menu and the prices are very reasonable. The service was good too.

here is a little more info from our visit...
My husband and i tried Mythos last Friday night and it was not overly crowded. The place has a nice bright open feel and really reminded me of a Greek Tavern like the ones i have visited on the Greek Islands.
The service was good. Our server stayed on top of things the whole time but he did forget to ask our preference on things that came with options on the menu.
My husband got fish dish and I got a gyro platter and we started with an eggplant starter.
The eggplant was excellent the main meals were very good but not as good as the eggplant. the portions were very big for the meal but the starters seemed smaller. The prices were very good for what you got.
As someone else mentioned the only places like this is Varka and Oceanos which are better but will cost you at least double.
