Mamma Maria last night
Went to Mamma Maria last night for the 1st time and found the food to be good to very good but not great. The high points were that the restaurant is very pretty and romantic and the service was very good. The best dish that we tasted was an appetizer portion of the Mushroom Ravioli topped with wild foraged mushrooms, this may have been one of the best ravioli's I have ever tasted. The other dishes that we got were an Asparagus Ravioli appetizer (just average), Bolognese (very good), the "signature" Osso Buco, which surprisingly was a little bland served with a bland risotto and I would say it was good, not great, and lobster filled pasta pockets (I did not try these).

I went to Mamma Maria the first time about a month ago and my DC and I thought it was excellent. We also tried the asparagus ravioli and both really enjoyed it. Maybe an off night for you or possibly our tastes are different. My DC had the Bolognese and loved it. I tried a salad that I don't see on the menu - it contained a variety of roasted root veggies and resembles the winter salad currently on the menu but was a bit different. I wish I remember more (this is why I need to remember to post right after dinner) but I know we thought the room, service, wine recommendations, and food was something certainly worth going back for.
